LUMINOSITY highlights a significant step forward in building‑integrated photovoltaics with the successful demonstration of the world’s first electrically functioning perovskite solar roof tile.

Developed by TNO within the framework of Dutch national and European research projects, including LUMINOSITY, the innovative roof tile integrates flexible perovskite solar modules directly into a curved roofing element. The result is a technology that enables renewable electricity generation to become a natural part of buildings — without requiring additional land use or compromising architectural design.

This development reflects LUMINOSITY’s core objective of advancing lightweight, flexible and roll‑to‑roll compatible perovskite photovoltaics, bridging the gap between laboratory research and real‑world applications.
