Read the first LUMINOSITY-Acknowledged Paper
May 28, 2025We are excited to share the first peer-reviewed publication acknowledging the LUMINOSITY project.
The scientific paper, titled “Solution-Processed Metal-Oxide Nanoparticles to Prevent the Sputtering Damage in Perovskite/Silicon Tandem Solar Cells,” has been published in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces and is the result of collaborative work involving our consortium partners at the Institute of Structure of Matter ISM – CNR.
The research explores the use of protective buffer layers made from metal-oxide nanoparticles applied via a simple and cost-effective spin-coating method. This technique was successfully implemented in perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells, a promising technology for next-generation photovoltaics. The study also demonstrates how leveraging the intrinsic roughness of unpolished silicon can improve light absorption.

The study was proudly presented at the 17th International Conference on Hybrid and Organic Photovoltaics (HOPV 2025), held from May 12–14, 2025, at the Spazio Field of Palazzo Brancaccio in Rome, Italy. The oral presentation delivered by Erica Magliano highlighted CNR’s research activities within the framework of the LUMINOSITY project.
